OBAMA! I CAN'T TRUST HIM BECAUSE ... HE'S ... HE'S AN ARAB!

THE TRUTH - RACISM DOES PLAY A PART IN THE 2008 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION!

The above image is a statement I found on the Internet.  Yes, it's a visual statement, more than just an image.  It speaks loudly about the fears of a nation, the hate, and distrust of a majority, many of whom consider themselves moral.  Granted, these days we like to consign the purveyors of such filth to the fringe, but that is not always the case.  Whether many of us choose to believe, or not believe, it is moments both pivotal, like a presidential election, and mundane, like when you're riding on an elevator, that the truth slips out.  Racism is alive and well.  Now I'm a firm believer that with time, psychological evolution, understanding, and the continued merging of global cultures, we'll eventually see racism as a time-lost relic.  Unfortunately, that time is not now.  The title of this entry is twofold, it contains a quote that was said at a town hall rally for John McCain, and a secondary title at the top that speaks to the truth of this election.

According to several news sources deep-seated racial misgivings are at play in this year's election.  40 Percent of all white Americans hold at least a partly negative view toward blacks, and that includes many Democrats and Independents.

In a year when the political landscape clearly favors a Democrat, why is the race so close?  President Bush is incredibly unpopular.  We are in the midst of the worst economic disaster since the Great Depression.  Why is the Democratic candidate for President not ahead in the polls by 15 to 20 points?  People are hungering for change.  However, so many are unsure.  Why?  Can you guess?  Look again at the picture above, and hear the statement it makes clearly in your mind.  It's an answer.

When I heard Neal Boortz complaining that if Obama lost the race people would say it was because he was black, I was saddened.  I wasn't shocked.  I wasn't stupefied.  I know that Boortz is above all an entertainer.  He strives to be more, and that is noble.  He strives to be a critical thinker, and of this I approve.  He doesn't sit on the low rung of the ladder with the Hannitized.  He has even said he understands when some black people say they feel obligated to vote for Obama because he's black.  Boortz thinks.  Still, he can let emotion override reason and show his spoonishness.  It's totally spoonish for him to state that people would blame Obama's loss in the election on race relations in America, as if they're saying something wrong.  Why wouldn't they?  Race does play a part, and he is a spoon to say otherwise.  Especially when people like John Clouse, 57, of Somerset, Ohio says, "we still don't like black people."  He says it with no discernible basis.  He says it just because.  Why does he not like black people?  He feels they are lazy, violent, complaining, irresponsible, and boastful.

When my wife and I heard how angry and indignant some of our friends were at the state of our nation, that the electorate was not favoring Barack Obama by a clear margin, we simply explained it to them.  As African-Americans this is what we know.  We have lived this all our lives.  It is not at all surprising.  What it is ... is refreshing.  It is refreshing to know our white friends, even our McCain supporters, are angry at how Barack is being treated.  It is refreshing and surprising to keep running across white people in Gwinnett County, Georgia saying, "Hey, of course Barack is our guy.  It only makes sense."  Is is so refreshing to hear our friends of European descent feel righteous anger at hearing the words, "We should hang him," said at a rally.  It is refreshing to know they too feel and understand the sting of hate when it's directed at someone they want to see succeed with all they have, heart and soul.  It hurts.  It hurts bad.  And people ... sometimes, it is refreshing to know that others truly sympathize, they feel your pain, our pain, our collective pain, and they understand.  However, most of all, it is refreshing to know, that so, so many Americans, truly feel our country is ready.  They feel that the time is now, and Barack Obama is the man.

Let's be perfectly clear, A BLACK MAN IS GOING TO BECOME PRESIDENT!  His name is Barack Obama.  And now, RIGHT NOW, there are people screaming bloody murder.  There are people oozing hate into the ether, dreaming and praying for his destruction.  There may even be people planning.  I will not solidify the previous statement by typing that into being.  I will type, we are black Americans and we have been and always will be a strong people.  We are leaders and innovators.  We are not what Media-Driven ConsumerCelebreality would have the rest of the world believe, that we are mindless consumers hell-bent on self-destruction, and passionate only about the latest trends, hot-boys, and hot-girls, clothes, jewelry, ridiculously over-sized tires and wheels, and words that rhyme.

Nigger is a disgraceful word.  Nigga is a sort of reclamation still without nobility, but used nonetheless.  These do not matter, because we claim them, own them, disavow their use by others, and stand as examples against what far too many other ethnicities, especially American Whites, believe they represent.

YOUR USE OF THE WORD TO DESTROY MY SPIRIT, DISENFRANCHISE MY PEOPLE, AND CASTIGATE ALL THAT IS ME TO INCONSEQUENCE LOGICALLY CLAIMS YOU, AND MAKES YOU, THE USER OF SUCH VENOM THE DESTROYED, DENOUNCED AS UN-AMERICAN.  YOU BECOME THE NIGGER ... LOSS TO THE REST OF US, THAT STRIVE FOR THE IDEAL.

What I have typed into the ether is truth.  It is being realized.  There are those that choose to not reclaim their spirit and therefore be saved.  However we are not like the far-right, believing that ultimately far-too many will not be redeemed.  No, even the worst hater can be saved ... if they find it within themselves to take the first step towards the light.  In order to get to this plateau of understanding, where meaningful dialogue and critical discourse takes place, one has to start ... with the climb.  With each step taken, wisdom is ingrained within, and understanding of differences through the recognition of said differences empowers each of us who make the attempt.  This enlightenment is the only thing that holds my baser passions in check, when I am confronted with hate and venom, and I'm called, a no-good, ignorant nigger, please take your black ass back home to Africa.  It is this wisdom and enlightenment that I hold on to when the words and threats sting, and my emotion attempts to overwhelm my rationality, asking myself but I'm not African, I'm American.  I'm from HERE!  Why don't they understand?  My critical mind keeps my emotions in check, and allows me to take a higher road, to be more noble, and strive for the ideal.  I attempt to lift others as I climb, and demand success in my attempt.  It starts with a desire to understand, to know.

What is racism?  It is discriminatory or abusive behavior towards members of another race.  The belief that one race is superior to another.  It is hatred or intolerance of another race or races.

I tend to change the definition of racism.  First, Race is a contrivance.  There is no such thing.  The color of our skin has no real bearing on what makes us different.  A black person can be genetically closer to a white person than his closest black friend.  Our real differences arise out of cultures and ethnicities.  Knowing this truth provides a basis for true understanding.  Still, it does not discount the fact that racism exists.  It does not matter that it is based on a contrivance.  Humans hate because people are different.  We rally behind sameness, and will willingly kill someone because they look different.

Obama in Jail
The above image was pulled from a blog site.  The following quote also comes from the site.

Imagine for a minute the fantastic awesome reaction among other chimps if Obama was pulled from his palace and sent to Nigger University (Prison) for 25 years. Not only would they chimp out, but it'd be a perfect excuse to add them to the good nigger (dead nigger) list. It's a win-win!

Barack Obama looks like a monkey.

The following was pulled from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.  It refers to the image of Obama looking like Curious George, the monkey.

Marietta bar owner Mike Norman says the T-shirts he’s peddling, featuring a look-a-like of cartoon chimp Curious George peeling a banana, with “Obama in ‘08″ underneath, are not meant to offend.

Norman acknowledged the imagery’s Jim Crow roots but said he sees nothing wrong with depicting a prominent African-American as a monkey,

“We’re not living in the (19)40’s,” he said. “Look at him . . . the hairline, the ears — he looks just like Curious George.”

About a dozen protesters rallied against the shirts Tuesday afternoon, condemning them as racist and asking Norman, longtime proprietor of Mulligan’s Bar and Grill on Roswell Street, to stop selling them.

The loosely formed coalition of civil rights activists who gathered Tuesday say they will continue their campaign against Norman’s “hate speech.”

Yes, this is blatant hatred and discrimination against black. RACISM!!! Those intolerant, bigoted Conservatives smearing and degrading Liberals!!!

No matter how Mike Norman tries to explain himself, he's being blatantly offensive.  Others have complained that blacks are being too sensitive, and once again are pulling out the race card.  They're showing images of George Bush being compared to a monkey.  They're complaining about why it's okay to compare President Bush to a monkey and not Senator Obama.  This shows a fundamental lack of critical thinking skills.  You're an American.  Yes, you're free to be offensive up to a point.  However, both comparisons are blatantly offensive.  One moreso than the other because of racial hatred.  That's the bottom line.  If you choose to show no compassion, no understanding, then you are free to do so.  And African-Americans are also free and obligated to call you what you are, a racist.  You choose to be a spoon because you like being ignorant.  Never mind the fact that America, our home, as a political entity has never chosen to apologize to her sons and daughters, the Descendants of the Emancipated, for the national blight that was slavery, or the historical shame that was segregation, or the generational affliction that is systemic racism.

This is how some  American's feel about the prospect of an African-American President:

Nigger Presidential Hopeful Beast Barak O'Bongo, seen above shaking a nigglet, has always beat the "return home and fuck Iraqis" drum but new evidence has just been released showing that he's talking out of both sides of his chimp mouth.

These images are American and I support them.  I support our right to protest, and disagree, and even defame within limits.  I support this, because supporting it allows me the freedom to rise up in protest.  These images are despicable and indicative of ignorance.  It proves that racism is alive and well.  It proves that there is a voting population that will vote for John McCain because they can't vote for a black man ... and they may just  happen to agree with John McCain's views.  All this is American.  Still, I hold on to the ideal.  I see a brighter future and a better way.  I support change.  I speak it and I type it into being ...  NOW!

The 44th President of the United States

President Barack Obama

Above you see a man of clear intelligence and integrity.  A man who chose a path of hardship, partnership, and uplift, as opposed to ease, greed, and partisanship.  Here is a man of immense wealth, in the true meaning of the word: financial independence, love of life, family, and community.  Here is a man that chose a path that did lead to worldwide renown, but his aspirations have thus far not outstripped his ambition, and his ambition thus far has been held in proper proportion with wisdom and purpose.  He desires to see a world doing well, a global vision with America leading the way.  THIS is Presidential.

The First Family

In the above picture you see compassionate and loving parents, beautiful children, the American ideal.  Who among you would not be proud to see them take up residence in the White House?  If you are a contientious and well-meaning person that happens to disagree with Obama supporters on the issues, that's fair.  Still, a good person would concede that the people in the picture would be wonderful stewards of our nation's First home.

People, there are those of us that are standing tall as proud Americans, and we're not asking for an apology.  We know our history, and we understand the context in which we live.  We know in our blood and bone that this nation is ours, and we claim it, as much ours as yours.  We are shaping destiny and striving for the ideal.  We are growing in power and responsibility.  We will shoulder our burdens, and bring our wayward follow African-Americans into the fold.  We will transform them into critical thinkers following the example of a proud American, not a Descendent of the Emancipated, but an African-American nonetheless.  We will follow Barack Obama, and he will inspire a Nation, no a planet!  You can keep the apology, so long as you hateful ones who wish to stop the forward progress of America stand aside.  GET OUT OF THE WAY, and be led by proud Americans that choose to embrace the ideal.  Yes, take a seat ... in the back, be quiet, and allow yourselves to just ... fade ... away.
